Hi guys, help me out here :)

1) What is your budget? (INR or USD)

Sweet spot is 45-55 K

2) What size & weight consideration (if any) would you prefer?

Size really doesnt matter much, as long as its more than 13" /14"

3) What are the primary tasks you will be performing with this notebook?

Mostly android app development, web browsing , movies.
Will also like to play games like Dota 2, DayZ and upcoming single player titles. Now I know my budget isnt good for this requirement, so I am ready to play on low settings.
PS: I also have a PC which Im going to upgrade for gaming+coding needs somewhere in the year end.

5) Any typical configuration in your mind you're eying for ?

This time I want Intel CPU coz making apps on AMD CPU laptop/PC is kinda slow as compared to Intel (assuming Im not using my phone everytime for app testing). So please, Intel CPU this time. I will go for Ryzen for my PC anyways.
8GB ram is required.
And I heard 940mx is decent for my requirements, need your opinion.

4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?

Nothing likle that in particular as long as they are not from brands like Micromax. Also, I dont want a plastic body laptop. My old HP laptop had plastic body and it was terrible to work on. Now its dead.

6) Anything else you would like to say?

I can purchase it online and offline both. Will prefer online if its available to my pincode.

Apart from that, I never focussed much on build quality but after working on HP G6 2005ax, now I know build quality matters. The heat generated from playing games, melted my top-left most screw port, which in turn led to a damaged back panel (I had to replace it 2 yrs ago).

PS: Forgot to mention, Im gonna buy it before this Sunday.

Thanks

Buy Dell Inspiron 5558 15.6-inch Laptop (Core i5-5200U/8GB/1 TB/Win 8.1/2GB Graphics/With Bag), Silver Online at Low Prices in India - Amazon.in

Please do not buy any stuff from Harassement-Packard.

I think Asus R558UQ should be good for you. Its GT 940MX GPU is good for the price in India. Also it has a 1080p display. It will suggest removing the DVD drive & adding a 120GB SSD in its place with a caddy (you will find lots of tutorials online on how to do it). Add additional RAM (4/8GB).

For gaming, do not get laptop with GPU other than GT 940MX (940MX itself isn't great, others are weaker, especially AMD ones)

I checked this one too, but 920m made me look away.

What do you think about this one ? Buy Asus R558UQ-DM513D 15.6-inch Laptop (7th Gen Core i5-7200U/4GB/1TB/DOS/2GB Graphics), Dark Blue Online at Low Prices in India - Amazon.in

It has everything I need except 8GB RAM. Can I add 4GB DDR4 ram without breaking the warranty rules ?

Exactly what I was thinking. So what if I add ram ? Will this practice void the warranty?

Do tell if adding ram can be done without informing asus or it needs to be done at service centre for warranty to remain valid.

P.S. @Piyush don't forget to buy their extra ADP(accidental damage protection) pack,it is quite useful & worth much more than its price.
