Interested in buying a new phone

Max Budget - INR15000

Models Considering -
1. Redmi Note 4 (available
2. Moto G5S Plus
3. Mi A1

Note 4 does not have gorilla glass protection and might not get more updates
Read a review somewhere that Moto consumes more battery but has dedicated card slot which xiaomi devices lack.
Mi A1 does not have NFC and is not splash resistant. i think both the sims are LTE as opposed to Note 4.

Shall I buy any one of these or buy a redmi 4 for 7k and wait for some time.

My usage are - calls, video, internet, occasional whatsapp, ebooks and other general / financial apps.
since 3-4k devices are coming with 4G volte plus native video calls (jio 4g) so i assume the device will have the same.
i am assuming that it can not be an offline buy and am expecting either flipkart or amazon

G5s plus has hybrid slot. That's stupid cost cutting by Motorola there. Native video calling is not supported by phones running on near stock android like Moto phones.

iirc, mi A1 also has stock android so that means no native video calling. so that means it comes to whatsapp / duo then. ok then what is the option in your opinion? and thanks for the reply.

Still not bought due to busy schedule. considering now. Any other options now or it is still Moto G5s+ the best choice?
Dropped the idea of Redmi Note 4 because of update problems.

thanks buddy but not considering that as that is an old model.

Another model in consideration is honor 9i.

Will be buying tomorrow and if no other option found then will be buying Moto G5s Plus from Amazon.

Thanks.

There is native video calling on Mi A1. I checked it yesterday. I'd stay away from Huawei/Honor phones because of EMUI crap (also from Xiaomi phones unless they have dev support).

thanks buddy. i am using a redmi 4a on marshmallow and have no idea when it will be updated to nougat. many say they listen to customers but looking at their forum i find its not true.

Mi A1 runs stock android so have they made some customization to add native video calling feature?

Also, how / what will be the difference (speed or data or what?) in using a native video calls or duo / whatsapp or some other video call app? asking this as i don't have any idea about this having used video calling only few times. In, 3g we had native video calls without data but jio uses data for video calls in 4g. In this case native video calls made from mi a1 will use data like other ott apps.

so in the end, is it down to moto only?

thanks buddy but does jio provides native video calling? iirc, in 3g providers used to charge little more for video calls compared to voice calls.

what would be the best option then? budget can be increased a little more. thanks.

Yes, jio has free native video calling.

but Terms and conditions on Jio site say - "The data used by the consumers for Jio applications, Video calls and other content available on internet would be uniformly debited against plan data allocation."
