So after a long tug of war between mac and pc, i've decided to go with pc. please suggest a build that can be upgraded easily later (i mean a little future proof). Below is my requirement :

. What is the purpose of the computer? What all applications and games are you going to run? (Stupid answers like 'gaming' or 'office work' will not work. Be exact. Which games? Which applications? Avoid the word 'et cetera.')
Ans: Main purpose would be photo/video editing using Adobe premiere, photoshop etc.. but i would like to do a little gaming as well. I used to game long back during age of empires and rise of nation days :p. I don't really care much about FPS and details as long as i can play latest games properly on mid or high settings.

2. What is your overall budget? If you can extend a bit for a more balanced configuration, then mention this too.
Ans: 1lakh but i can extend more if it is really worth it

3. Planning to overclock?
Ans: No

4. Which Operating System are you planning to use?
Ans: windows

5. How much hard drive space is needed?
Ans: 1TB should be fine, as i have a couple of hard disks. But most importantly i want to add an SSD for installing OS and other important softwares.

6. Do you want to buy a monitor? If yes, please mention which screen size and resolution do you want. If you already have a monitor and want to reuse it, again mention the size and resolution of monitor you have.
Ans: Yes. a good quality 1080p should be fine for now.i will upgrade later based on my budget.

7. Which components you DON'T want to buy or which components you already have and plan on reusing?
Ans: None

8. When are you planning to buy the system?
Ans: By end of this month

9. Have you ever built a desktop before or will this be done by an assembler?
Ans: No. But i want to build it myself. I've seen enough youtube videos to try :D

10. Where do you live? Are you buying locally? Are you open to buying stuff from online shops if you don't get locally?
Ans: Hyderabad. I'm open to both online or local stores. i'll get it from the place that offers better price.
Any idea on good places that offer pc components in hyderabad ?

11. Anything else which you would like to say?
Ans: I'm looking for intel build preferably. i hear most of the softwares especially adobe premiere doesnt take advantage of AMP processors.

OP won't overclock.
Modify the config and replace the 1600x with 1700 and X370 with B350

Thanks for the suggestion sunil.
Just a quick thought ..how good is the motherboard in terms of future upgrades ?
I mean updating more ram or to a better graphic card ?

worth it ..in the sense of price ?
I know that amd is more affordable compared to intel especially with the latest chips ...but not many softwares are optimised for those chips right ?

I don't think there are any optimization related problems. Currently, the best bang for buck is AMD due to the additional cores on the processor (the future!)

8-core Ryzen 7 is the way to go if you are into video editing.

You can run a render in the background and play a game. Can i7-7700K do that? NOPE.

Anyone who recommends Intel over amd specially for video editing n workstation builds..is a retard... seriously !!!
8 core 16thread vs 4 core 8 thread processor is a joke
... And mind u ryzen 7 1700 is a capable gaming processor....
After such a long time we actually have a competition for Intel and they r blown away with ryzen's performance...and still people question AMD...and not to forget that Intel 8core 16 thread costs around 95k..

The only thing is that Adobe's software is not threaded for 8 cores, only for 4-5 cores. On an average, in some Adobe software Ryzen 7 1700(X) will be faster by 5-10%, and in some i7-7700K will be faster by 5-10%. Same is true for Intel 8/6 core vs. i7-7700K (4 core) comparisons.

The point here is that i7-7700K's 4 cores will remain choked. Ryzen has a lot more headroom.

Refer these two links for proper rendering and encoding benchmarks. You will see Ryzen is in the league of 8-core Intel i7-6900K and i7-5960X which itself cost 1 lakh.

On top of this, Ryzen (8 core) runs cooler and consumes less power than i7-7700K (4 core). Make a decision wisely.

Thank you. I've read similar articles and looks like 1700 performance is better than i7-7700k especially due to the additional cores.
i'm thinking of going with AMD build. How is the build suggested by bssunilreddy, would you like to add any suggestions ?

The Ryzen 7 1700 configuration suggested by him is a good one.

Instead of,
X370, go for B350
M12 II 520, go for S12 II 520
Cheaper KB/Mouse combo
These will save you some bucks.

And go for bigger monitor, something like 27". More real estate would be nice and useful for video editing.
