first of all, public or private key encryption? One-way or two-way?
In the meanwhile, try some tools like ophcrack, jack the ripper, xor-analyze (if you have used xor) to test the encryption strength
change your PATH environment variable. I have never used Vista but if I was in XP, I'd have done the following from the command prompt:
SET PATH=%PATH%;D:\java\bin
assuming you have installed the jdk at D:\java
Don't think things would be much different in Vista..
BTW, disable Windows Messenger.
Also look for these files and if found delete them:
