Wow...been ages since I posted on this forum. Here's some stuff I bought this week:
For my primary gaming rig, I purchased an EVGA GTX 470 with a Zalman VF3000f aftermarket cooler. Together, they cost me $240 from TPU forums.
Purchased an Asus GTX 470 for $220 from newegg. These are for my...
I am planning to put together a gaming PC and I was all ready with the config etc. I had decided on an intel i7 920, and now all of a sudden I'm seeing reviews of AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz performing equally well, or even better in some cases. Also, both processors apparently OC...
Re: All Graphics Cards related queries here.
availability of the HD5850s and 5870s are really poor everywhere. I've been wanting to buy a Sapphire/XFX/Asus 5850 or 5870 for almost 2 weeks now. The only ones that have some sort of availability are Diamond and Powercolor, but I'd rather not go...
Hanns.G 28 inches 1080p monitor. very happy with it. Its got really great reviews at newegg too.

Re: All Graphics Cards related queries here.
^^ thanks for the link. after some research, I think I've decided to go for the HD 5870. a single 5870 saves me about $160 over 2 HD5850s. I can use that saved up money to crossfire my 5870 eventually when I feel the need.
@ desiibond: I have the Logitech Z-5500 5.1 speaker set. the thing is, the Z-5500 has an inbuilt amplifier with Dolby DTS processing. I'm gonna send digital signal to the Z5500 (via ToSLINK) and allow the Z-5500 to do the Dolby processing. is the sound card still worth the $150 it costs? i don't...

Re: All Graphics Cards related queries here.
Two quick questions:
1. If i run games at a resolution of 1920x1080 on a 28" monitor, what kind of details (textures, AA, AF) can i expect of the recent and soon to be released games (Modern Warfare 2, NFS Shift etc.) using a single HD 5850 and...
Re: All Graphics Cards related queries here.
yeah, i'm comfortable with Sapphire. my first and only experience with ATi cards (the X1600) was a Sapphire and it worked great. However, i'm not getting the components till later this month, so if XFX HD5850 is out by then, I'd prefer that.
I...
Re: All Graphics Cards related queries here.
^^ yeah...after reading up some reviews and test results, thats the conclusion I arrived at. I can get the HD 5850 (1Gb DDR5) for about $260, and then down the line, crossfire it with another.
online benchmarks say that the HD 5850 beats the GTX...
my current headphones are 35 ohms and my ipod classic can drivet hem reasonably. Agreed, I don't get ear splitting volumes like I would with a pair of earphones, but by no means is the volume feeble.
The Senneheiser's are 32 ohm, so they should ber elatively easier to drive. As for audio...
