Require a Simple, Free software for splitting Huge videos.. (around 3-6GB size)

Losslesscut install includes the FFMPEG components and does not require you to use the commandline or anything. Did you try it out? P. S. Disclaimer - I'm not associated with the program or its developer in any way, I'm only a happy user :)

4K alignment of HDD/SSD - how important is it?

It can in theory slow down performance In practice, if you had created the partition as NTFS, with Win7 or better, or the relevant filesystems with somewhat recent versions of Linux, it would have already taken care of the alignment. Some software, like Minitool Partition wizard, AOMEI etc...

Windows 7 getting Corrupt Every 6 Months ? Solution ?

Hmm, your laptop's spec page says it supports windows 8.1 why not try installing that? Also, hard drive issues can cause corruption, so adding to all the others' suggestion, replace the HDD at the earliest.

In need of advice on an internal HDD upgrade compatibility ..

Actually you can disable both the update & the update services themselves, either through Group Policy Editor (If it's present on your version of Windows), or through other programs. Google for "Windows Update Blocker" / "WPD App". PS before the microsoft defenders come out in force, the...

AMD Zen+ & Zen 2 CPUs Vulnerable To Meltdown-Like Cyber Attacks

Don't know if this affects Win10. I have several machines running 10, and only 1 with Win11 (the ASUS PN51 I mentioned somewhere else). None of them have showed any issues so far. I didn't notice any difference in the Win11 machine as I had employed one of the many workarounds to install it...

    KVM switch

Hi I purchased and am using the KCEVE 4 port switch mentioned in your second link since 1 Month (To be precise 3 Dec.), from Amazon. Intel NUC

Correct that the ASUS mentioned is a barebones., but the GT710 in the kit you mentioned is worse than old Intel HD graphics. Buying a good graphics card now would cost more than the whole PC. Sad times  Also, the AMD 4700S has a history. It isn't a normal Mini PC by any standard. Take a...

    Internal HDD with SMR

No, SMR drives tend to perform a lot slower and are painful to work with even as external drives (I bought one and used for about a year now). Avoid like the plague. Google for specs of whatever you're planning to buy and go through carefully. Some further resources are available at...
