Are Tape to MP3 devices reliable?

Hi,
Has anyone used the Tape to MP3 portable devices available on ebay. Are they reliable.
They are basically portable cassette player with 3.5mm audio out & USB out. You can play old cassettes and convert it to mp3 using PC/laptop and suitable software.

Don't know about that but many years ago I used 3.5mm auxiliary audio cable to connect my sony walkman cassette player to pc audio in port & used nero 6 to convert songs to aac format.

I have rest of the setup in place. I have 3.5mm aux cable, line-in port on PC and fortunately now Nero Wave Editor windows app is free. What is missing is a device that can actually play old cassettes! I am always cautious when it comes to products on ebay.
